Meta releases Muse Wonder AI models to Muse Code subscribers and API

For the head of deposit strategy at a regional bank

Meta released two AI models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, to Muse Code subscribers on Oct. 12, according to The Verge, which reported the launch on that date.1

Meta said the models compete with leading models from OpenAI and Anthropic, including GPT-6 Astra, Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Fable 5.1, pointing to results from internal testing on several industry benchmarks, The Verge reported.1 The Verge said it is unclear how the models compare with Google's Gemini 4 Argon, whose capabilities are still coming into focus.1

Wonder can also be accessed through the Meta Model API, Meta said, according to The Verge.1

Meta said it eventually plans to power its Muse AI agent with Wonder, starting with subscribers, and to develop specialized models it can bring to everyone using Muse; it has not shared specifics or a timeline for either, The Verge reported.1

The Verge listed an earlier story, dated Sep. 29, reporting that Meta's Muse AI sent a YouTuber's address to a stranger; the sources provided do not give details of that incident.1

Why it matters

Banks and fintechs can now test a new model family through the Meta Model API, but the performance claims rest on Meta's own internal benchmarks and have no independent check in these sources. Teams evaluating it for customer-facing assistants should run their own tests, including for data-handling errors.

From the brief

Our take. Meta wants its consumer agent running on models it says match OpenAI's and Anthropic's best, with no date. If agents start shopping savings rates for customers, your rate-sensitive deposits answer to software, which has no habits.

Action. Deposit pricing: Run a runoff scenario for rate-sensitive savings balances in which AI agents compare rates and move money for customers.

What our records say

Anthropic sells banks Claude seats and API access directly and through cloud marketplaces.1 In 2026 it added embedded engineering with Goldman Sachs and FIS, restricted cyber-defence access to its Mythos model for a few large banks, and a services firm co-founded with Goldman Sachs.1 Strategy and pricing: Claude Enterprise lists at $20 per seat per month plus usage at API rates.1
