BankingNewsAI stores as little as it can: an email address for the daily brief, and, for Ask BankingNewsAI, the account, its questions and answers. Nothing is sold or shared, and nothing is used to train AI models.
When you subscribe we store your email address, the date, the page you subscribed from and whether the address is active. We use it to send the daily brief and the welcome note. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe; unsubscribing marks the address inactive and stops all mail. Delivery is handled by Resend; the address is stored in our database (Supabase, hosted in the United States).
We keep your questions and answers so you can revisit them and so we learn what we can't answer yet. We don't sell or share them, and they're not used to train AI models.
What we store when you use Ask: your email address; whether you ticked the newsletter box; a device identifier in a signed cookie on each device you use; your questions and the verified answers, including which records were cited; whether you marked an answer useful or a source wrong; the note you leave on the “need more” form; and counters of questions used. We do not store raw IP addresses: abuse limits use a salted hash of the address that changes every day and is purged after two days. Sign-in link tokens are stored as hashes and purged when used or expired.
Why we keep questions and answers: so you can revisit your threads from any device, and so we learn which questions our records cannot answer yet. Unanswered questions are reviewed to decide what to research next. They are not used for advertising, profiling or training.
Who else sees them: the question and the records retrieved for it are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the answer, under terms that exclude training on API data. No other third party receives them.
How long: account rows, questions and answers are kept while the account exists. “Delete my account” on the Ask page removes the account, its devices, questions, answers and feedback at once. You can also email help@bankingnewsai.com and we will delete them.
The site uses Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics for aggregate page statistics. The only cookie we set ourselves is the Ask device cookie described above (and an admin session cookie for the site operator). No advertising cookies.
