AI wealth management startup funding 2026: who raised, how much, from whom, and what the banks did

Published Nov 8, 2026 · Last updated Nov 8, 2026

AI wealth management startup funding 2026, to 8 November: we count 24 rounds by AI-first wealth startups, worth $1,197.5 million in 22 dollar rounds plus £14.7 million in two UK rounds. The largest were Ridgeline's $250 million Series E at a $1.425 billion valuation (16 September), Farther's $150 million Series D at above $1 billion (21 May), Savvy Wealth's $100 million Series C at $600 million (9 September), Decade's $85 million seed (4 August), Jump's $80 million Series B (19 February), Moment's $78 million Series C (19 May), Nevis's $70 million Series B (26 October), Wealth.com's $65 million Series B (16 April) and Arca's $64 million seed and Series A (25 June). Zocks ($45 million, January), Catalyst ($30 million, October), Feathery ($30 million), Hadrius ($27 million), Avantos ($25 million), Luminary ($22 million), Greenboard ($15.5 million), Pave ($15 million), Autonomous ($15 million), Sava and PowerUp Money ($10 million each), PlannerPal ($6 million), Astor ($5 million), Aveni (£12 million) and Quartz (£2.7 million) also raised in 2026. About 54% of the dollars went to adviser and back-office tools, 33% to AI-native advisory firms and 5% to apps advising investors directly. For all wealth tech, CB Insights counts $4.1 billion in Q1–Q3 2026 against $7.3 billion in 2025. Banks joined rather than led: Schwab invested in Nevis and Wealth.com, BNY in Luminary and Citi Ventures in Jump and Wealth.com, and on 26 August 2026 Vanguard agreed to buy Altruist, a deal Axios put at $4.6 billion.

AI wealth management startups 2026: which ones raised funding, and how much?

We count 24 funding rounds announced between 1 January and 8 November 2026 by startups that put AI at the centre of wealth management. Each row comes from the company's own release or a trade report that states the amount, the date and the lead. The 22 rounds priced in dollars add up to $1,197.5 million; two UK rounds were priced in sterling, Aveni at £12 million and Quartz at £2.7 million. Where a release names no lead investor, the table says so rather than guessing.

Read the amounts with care. Arca's $64 million is a $15.5 million seed and a $48.5 million Series A announced together; Hadrius' $27 million is seed and Series A combined; Feathery's $30 million is its total funding including the Series A; Greenboard announced $20 million in total funding, of which the $15.5 million Series A is new. Ridgeline sells to investment firms rather than to individual advisers, but it calls itself AI-native and CB Insights files it under wealth tech; without it the dollar total is $947.5 million across 21 rounds.

Rounds often listed as 2026 that closed in 2025

  • Conquest Planning, $80 million Series B led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, announced on 23 June 2025 (FinTech Global).
  • Range, $60 million in November 2025, per InvestmentNews on 6 March 2026; Range is an RIA managing about $700 million whose CEO plans to “eliminate our own advisor base” over one to three years.
  • Nevis, a $35 million Series A from Sequoia, ICONIQ and Ribbit in December 2025 (WealthManagement.com); its 2026 round is the $70 million Series B in the table.
  • FINNY, a $17 million Series A led by Venrock on 19 December 2025 (WealthManagement.com), reported by InvestmentNews at a $150 million valuation.

How much money went into AI wealth management startups in 2026?

By our count, $1,197.5 million in dollar rounds to 8 November 2026: $165 million in Q1 across 4 rounds, $377.5 million in Q2 across 6 (plus Aveni's £12 million), $529 million in Q3 across 7 (plus Quartz) and $126 million in Q4 so far across 5. Three rounds of $100 million or more, Ridgeline, Farther and Savvy Wealth, account for $500 million, 42% of the dollars. The median dollar round is $30 million. There was no qualifying round in March, and September was the peak month at $387 million.

Why the numbers do not agree

The two wealth-tech trackers disagree on direction as well as level. CB Insights has Q2 2026 at $1.4 billion and Q3 at $1.6 billion; FinTech Global has $932.2 million and $2.8 billion. Each also restates itself: CB Insights first put Q1 2026 at $0.8 billion on 54 deals and now shows $1.0 billion on 99. Coverage differs too. Decade's $85 million seed in August would have ranked seventh in CB Insights' list of the ten largest Q3 wealth-tech deals, but it is not on it, and CB Insights counts only $45 million for all Latin American wealth tech that quarter. AI-first rounds in CB Insights' quarterly top-ten lists: Jump and Zocks (Q1), Farther, Moment and Wealth.com (Q2), Ridgeline, Savvy Wealth and Luminary (Q3).

Two facts hold in every source. First, money is concentrating in large rounds: FinTech Global says deals of $100 million or more raised $2.2 billion in Q3 2026 from just eight transactions, 78% of the quarter, against 6% a year earlier. Second, deal counts are falling: CB Insights counts 272 wealth-tech deals in the first nine months of 2026, after 527 in all of 2025, with an average deal of $20.7 million and a median of $3.3 million. Our Q1–Q3 AI-first total, $1,071.5 million, is equal to about a quarter of CB Insights' $4.1 billion for all wealth tech, though the two lists do not overlap exactly.

Who invests in AI wealth management startups?

Twenty of the 24 rounds name a lead, 22 different firms or people led or co-led, and none led twice. The repeat names are followers. Index Ventures is in four rounds (it led Moment and joined Arca, Savvy Wealth and Feathery). Y Combinator is in four (Astor, Greenboard, Hadrius and Sava), and its CEO Garry Tan led Autonomous's pre-seed through a YC alum vehicle. Schwab and Citi Ventures are each in two. Eight of the 24 rounds include a bank, custodian, asset manager or insurer as an investor: Jump, Avantos, Wealth.com, Aveni, Feathery, Savvy Wealth, Luminary and Nevis.

The investors say what they are buying. Laura Bock of QED Investors, which co-led Zocks, told Crunchbase News in October 2026 that “the market remains bifurcated — AI vs. not and market leaders vs. not”; QED is particularly interested in advice and wealth management, among other areas, and her view is that “the financial services operating system will be rebuilt end-to-end.” In the Zocks release she called it “the system of work for advisors and agents”. Insurers' venture arms are a second strategic channel: Allianz Life Ventures and TIAA Ventures in Jump, Allstate and Erie Strategic Ventures in Feathery, and Guardian Life, a client, in Avantos. The founders of Altruist, Jump and FINNY invested in Hadrius.

What do AI wealth management startups build?

Most of the money goes to tools that make the adviser and the back office faster, not to robots that replace the adviser. Grouping the 24 rounds by what the product does: 53.6% of the dollars went to operations and adviser tools, 33.3% to AI-native advisory firms that still employ advisers, 8.1% to planning and estate software, and 5.0% to apps that advise or trade for the end investor directly.

Five companies now call themselves an operating system

The adviser-tool category is converging. Jump describes an “AI operating system for financial advisors”, Nevis “the AI operating system for wealth management”, Moment “the AI operating system for investment management”, Avantos an AI operating system for financial institutions and Feathery an “AI operating and decisioning system”. Jump started as a meeting note-taker; Nevis says assets on its platform grew from $50 billion to $700 billion in 2026. The scale figures these firms publish overlap: Jump counts firms managing an estimated $12 trillion, Wealth.com firms servicing more than $15 trillion and Moment firms managing more than $10 trillion. Those are client assets at customer firms, not revenue, and the same firms appear in several of them.

Compliance for AI output is its own category

Three 2026 rounds fund supervision rather than advice. Hadrius ($27 million, CRV) and Greenboard ($15.5 million Series A, Base10) each serve more than 500 financial institutions with AI review of marketing, communications and employee compliance. Aveni's £12 million is for Agent Assure, a product to monitor “the conduct risk of AI agents alongside human interactions”, and Aveni takes part in the FCA's Supercharged Sandbox. As advisers send more AI-drafted messages, firms need a record of what the machine said.

What did incumbents and banks do: investments, partnerships and acquisitions?

The largest AI wealth transaction of 2026 was a purchase, not a round. On 26 August 2026 Vanguard agreed to acquire Altruist, which its release calls an “AI-forward wealth technology and custody platform”; Vanguard first invested in 2020 and Altruist will run as a standalone business. The release gives no price. Axios reported $4.6 billion and said Altruist had raised over $600 million, most recently at a $1.9 billion post-money valuation in early 2025. Six months earlier the market had priced the threat: on 10 February 2026, Bloomberg reported, an AI tax-strategy tool set off a sell-off in which Raymond James fell 8.8%, Schwab 7.4% and LPL 8.3%; InvestmentNews identifies Altruist as the startup that released an AI-powered tax assistant that month.

Charles Schwab is working all three levers. It is an investor (Wealth.com since April 2025, Nevis from October 2026), a distributor (Wealth.com's Ester tool sits inside Schwab Advisor Center) and a platform partner: on 14 September 2026 Schwab Advisor Services became the first RIA custodian in Anthropic's Claude for Financial Advisors, for the 16,000-plus independent RIAs it serves. Anthropic then added more partners on 27 October, the opening day of Schwab's IMPACT conference: InvestmentNews lists Invesco, FINNY, CAIS, Conquest and J.P. Morgan, whose asset-management arm is bringing 55ip's ActiveTax technology into Claude through a new connector, and Jump added purpose-built Claude skills.

The banks took minority stakes and joined rounds; none led an AI-first wealth round in 2026. BNY's global head of strategic partnerships, investments and innovation said Luminary brings “a distinctive approach to wealth transfer and estate planning”. Goldman Sachs put $42.5 million into GeoWealth, a turnkey asset-management platform where Apollo, BlackRock and J.P. Morgan Asset Management are also minority investors, and its Industry Ventures unit is an existing Savvy Wealth investor. Citi Ventures is an existing investor in Jump and Wealth.com, and Lloyds and Nationwide in Aveni. Morgan Stanley builds its own adviser tools; in June it told CNBC it will let corporate clients' external AI agents connect directly to its Shareworks and Equity Edge stock-plan platforms.

What valuations and growth figures did AI wealth startups disclose in 2026?

Few releases give a valuation, and fewer give revenue. Seven companies have a valuation on the record; the rest report assets on the platform and money raised.

Two 2026 rounds were priced above $1 billion, Ridgeline's and Farther's; CB Insights counted 2 new wealth-tech unicorns in Q3 2026 and 39 in total. The step-ups are steep: Savvy Wealth's valuation rose 6.6-fold in 15 months, and Altruist's sale price is about 2.4 times its early-2025 mark. Revenue is almost never published. The one public estimate is for a late-2025 round: InvestmentNews put FINNY's revenue at about $2.4 million, from 400 firms at $6,000 a year, which made its $150 million valuation “an eye-popping 62.5 times its annual revenue”.

What can banks and wealth managers learn from the 2026 rounds?

Six things the record shows, each tied to the rounds above. For how the largest banks use AI in wealth themselves, see our wealth-management AI leaders ranking.

  • Investors are paying for adviser capacity, not adviser replacement. 53.6% of the 2026 dollars went to operations and adviser tools and 33.3% to advisory firms that still employ advisers; apps that advise investors directly raised 5.0%, $60 million. Range, which plans to remove its own advisers, raised its money in 2025.
  • Incumbents are the distribution. Jump lists LPL Financial, Osaic, Cetera, Allianz Life and Manulife; Moment lists Edward Jones, LPL and Hightower; Zocks lists Carson Group, Osaic, Kestra and Ameritas; Wealth.com secured approvals from the three largest US broker-dealers in 2025, opening access to more than 50,000 advisers; PlannerPal says it is used by 20% of the UK's top 20 wealth managers. A bank's wealth arm is choosing which of these to buy, not whether the category exists.
  • The AI layer is moving into custody and model platforms. Schwab bundles Claude, Ester and Nevis around Schwab Advisor Center; Vanguard is buying Altruist outright; J.P. Morgan's 55ip sells into Claude through a connector. A wealth manager that relies on one custodian should expect AI features to arrive through it, and should check what data each connector can see.
  • Expect consolidation among the operating systems. Five 2026 issuers claim the operating-system role, with overlapping customers. Contracts should cover data export and exit terms.
  • Supervision has to cover the machine. Hadrius, Greenboard and Aveni raised a combined $42.5 million and £12 million to review AI-drafted communications and monitor AI agents' conduct. A firm deploying an adviser copilot needs that review trail.
  • Strategic stakes are small and follow the leads. Schwab, BNY, Citi Ventures, Lloyds, Nationwide and Goldman's Industry Ventures joined rounds that venture firms priced; the nearest thing to a bank-led AI wealth round, Goldman Sachs Alternatives' lead of Conquest's $80 million, was in June 2025. Vanguard chose to buy rather than add to a minority position.

About $1.2 billion across the 22 dollar-denominated rounds we could source between 1 January and 8 November 2026, plus £14.7 million from Aveni and Quartz. Without Ridgeline, which sells to investment firms, the total is $947.5 million. CB Insights counts $4.1 billion for all wealth tech in Q1–Q3 2026.

What was the largest AI wealth management funding round of 2026?

Ridgeline's $250 million Series E on 16 September 2026, led by founder Dave Duffield at a $1.425 billion valuation. Among firms that serve advisers or clients directly, the largest were Farther's $150 million Series D in May, led by General Atlantic, and Savvy Wealth's $100 million Series C in September, led by Halo Fund.

Which AI wealth management startups are worth more than $1 billion?

Did banks invest in AI wealth management startups in 2026?

Yes, as minority investors. Schwab joined Nevis's Series B and is an existing Wealth.com investor; BNY joined Luminary's Series A; Citi Ventures is in Jump and Wealth.com; Lloyds and Nationwide are in Aveni; Goldman's Industry Ventures is in Savvy Wealth. None of them led an AI-first wealth round in 2026.

Is AI replacing financial advisers, judging by 2026 funding?

Not on the funding record. About 54% of the 2026 dollars went to adviser and back-office tools and 33% to AI-native firms that still employ advisers. Direct-to-investor AI apps such as Catalyst, Autonomous, Astor and PowerUp Money raised $60 million, about 5%. Range plans to replace its own advisers, but raised in 2025.

Why do CB Insights and FinTech Global report different wealth-tech funding totals?

They define wealth tech differently and add late-reported rounds over time. For Q3 2026 CB Insights counts $1.6 billion on 77 deals and FinTech Global $2.8 billion on 124; for Q2 the order is reversed. CB Insights also raised its Q1 2026 figure from $0.8 billion to $1.0 billion between reports.
