Stripe is private and files no 10-K, so its AI strategy is set out in annual letters, its Sessions conference and investor letters. Its stated aim is to build "the economic infrastructure for AI": at Sessions on April 29, 2026 CEO Patrick Collison called AI "the biggest platform shift for the economy since the internet" and said that "in the not-too-distant future agents will account for most transactions online". The record has three strands. First, AI inside payments: the 2024 annual letter, published February 27, 2025, said Stripe continually retrains dozens of machine-learning models, and in May 2025 Stripe announced a Payments Foundation Model trained on tens of billions of transactions. Second, selling to AI companies: 78% of the Forbes AI 50 built on Stripe in early 2025, and an August 2026 investor letter reported by Axios put the figure at 88%, with the share of Stripe's revenue from AI and crypto companies more than doubling year over year.
