## Who are SoFi Technologies's competitors, and what are the alternatives?

SoFi competes on several fronts at once because it is a lender, a digital bank, a brokerage and a technology vendor, and its 2025 10-K describes seven levels of competition without naming a rival. Other filers name SoFi. In student loans, Sallie Mae's 10-K lists Sofi Technologies with Citizens, PNC and College Ave among its primary competitors in private education loans. In personal loans, Forbes calls LendingClub a SoFi competitor whose borrowers average a 720 FICO against SoFi's 745. In deposits, Chime's 10-K names SoFi with Ally and Discover as the online-only institutions it competes with, and SoFi's CEO names JPMorganChase, Citi and Bank of America as the entrenched giants. In investing and crypto, the rivals are mostly non-banks: Robinhood, which CNBC and Fortune named a SoFi competitor in 2020 and Investing.com called a rival in 2025; Fidelity and Coinbase, which American Banker set against SoFi's November 2025 crypto relaunch; and Morgan Stanley's E*Trade. The line where non-banks are the real rival and also the customer is the Technology Platform: Galileo, which competes with processors such as Marqeta, FIS and Fiserv, was built on clients that compete with SoFi (Chime, Robinhood, Varo, Revolut), and Chime moved its transactions to its own processor by the end of 2025.
