## How is Old National using AI?

Old National calls itself the fifth-largest commercial bank headquartered in the Midwest (July 2026 results release; its FY2025 10-K, filed in February 2026, said sixth-largest), with about $74 billion in assets after a run of acquisitions that culminated in the $1.4 billion purchase of Minnesota's Bremer Financial, closed on 1 May 2025, which added 70 branches and made it the third-largest bank in the Twin Cities. Its AI record is modest and largely vendor-led, with an in-house AI centre of excellence disclosed in April 2026. In January 2026 Quavo, an agentic-AI disputes technology provider, gave Old National its Customer Confidence Award for the highest satisfaction rate in client dispute resolution, with the bank's chief operations officer Jeff Newcom saying quick, careful resolution of disputes and fraud concerns is 'fundamental'. In February 2026 the bank completed a Swift architecture overhaul with Axletree that meets the ISO 20022 mandate and, according to CTO Jason Berkowitz, has cut friction in international payments and raised automation and validation.
