Lloyds Banking Group scores 83.6 on this site's global AI disclosure index, #13 of 140 banks and third in its nine-bank peer group, behind HSBC (88.5) and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (88.2), which are close to level, and ahead of BBVA (77.2), a close cluster of Barclays (76), TD (75.3) and NatWest (75.1), then Santander (71.3) and ING (65.2). Among the UK-headquartered banks in the group it trails only HSBC on this index, ahead of Barclays and NatWest, and on Evident's October 2026 AI Index it ranked 15th of 50, ahead of NatWest (17th) and Barclays (19th). The score measures what is on the record, not capability. Three things separate Lloyds from named peers. First, it prices its AI: about £50 million of value from generative AI in 2025 across more than 50 solutions, with more than £100 million expected in 2026; NatWest and Barclays publish hours saved and adoption rather than a value figure, while Santander targets more than EUR 1 billion a year by 2028. Second, its own agent platform: Envoy, built with Google Cloud, runs fraud-support agents on customer calls since June 2026. Third, a customer assistant at scale: its AI financial assistant was with more than 500,000 Bank of Scotland customers by June 2026.
