## Who are HSBC USA's competitors, and what are the alternatives?

HSBC USA's 2025 10-K, filed February 25, 2026, says it faces intense competition in all its markets from banks, insurers, commercial finance providers, brokers, investment companies and fintech companies, and that it competes 'with different banks and financial services companies in different markets, given our strategy'. That strategy is narrow: to be 'the leading international banking partner in the United States', through Corporate and Institutional Banking for multinationals and cities with strong trade ties, and International Wealth and Premier Banking for globally connected affluent and wealthy clients on the East and West coasts, served from 21 wealth centers and 17 representative offices with about 400,000 customers. In corporate and transaction banking its closest rivals are the global-network banks: Citi, whose Token Services runs in seven markets including the US, and JPMorgan, whose Kinexys moves about $7 billion a day.
