It calls itself the largest independent commercial bank headquartered in Southern California, the largest independent US bank focused on clients operating in both the US and Asia, and a leader in Asian American banking market share, with 96 US branches and branches in China and Hong Kong. Its closest community rivals are in Los Angeles: Cathay, whose own 10-K says one larger Chinese-American bank competes with it for loans and deposits in California, and Bank of Hope, with 74 branches in multi-ethnic communities.
